Jeffrey Axelrod,
CEO and President
Jeffrey Axelrod is a financial services and technology executive who has spent his career building bridges between these two domains. For the past 15 years he has been deeply involved in the business processes of financial services organizations, conceiving, designing, and building technology in the areas of portfolio management and analytics, partnership accounting, corporate actions, and pricing, among other areas.
Jeffrey is the founding Chief Technology Officer of Cogency Software. He started the company in 2002, with the goal of building vertical-market analytics and operations solutions that end-users could customize on their own. Today, Cogency has one of the most comprehensive accounting and operations packages for Funds of Hedge Funds. In May 2007, Jeffrey became CEO of the company.
Prior to joining Cogency, Jeffrey was vice president of development and chief architect at TenFold Corporation, a provider of application-building technologies used by many of the world's top companies in financial services, energy, insurance, and telecommunications. Prior to that, he served as chief technology officer and vice president of development at Financial Technologies International (now GoldenSource), a provider of enterprise data management solutions for financial services companies.
Jeffrey holds a BA from Beloit College in Wisconsin, and advanced certification in Computer Technology from Columbia University. He held a teaching position at Columbia's Computer Technology and Applications division for six years.

Tony Lai,
Director of Project Management
Tony Lai joined Cogency in November 2005 as an Implementation Specialist and Applications Developer for the roll-out of Cogency's Investor InsightT and Fund of Hedge Funds InsightT Products. Tony has over 9 years of hands-on experience developing and designing business and financial software, with the last 6 years specializing in enterprise systems for companies involved in International Trade Supply Chain, Finance, Insurance, and Logistics. Prior to joining Cogency, Tony managed client relationships, overseas development teams, and enterprise software projects as Director of the Project Management Office at Appian Bridge Corporation, a proprietary software and consulting firm. Tony was responsible for managing the software implementations, budgeting, support, and scheduling at firms including, Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), Citibank, US Bank, ABN AMRO Bank, Fuji Bank, Chinatrust Commercial Bank, Otto Versand Group, National Coffee Federation of Colombia (FNC), P&O Nedlloyd, Panalpina, and Basell International. Tony began his career on the options floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange and has wide ranging experience in the financial services industry. Tony holds a B.A. from Colgate University in New York and Certifications in Project Management and Networking.

Robert Silberschein,
VP of Implementation Solutions
Robert Silberschein joined Cogency in December 2005 as a Developer and an Implementation Specialist for the roll-out of Cogency's flag ship product, Fund of Hedge Funds InsightT. Having over 20 years of hands-on experience developing business and financial software, with the last 12 years specializing in middle and back office systems for hedge funds, he has a unique perspective on bridging the gap between alternative investment technology needs and solutions. Prior to joining Cogency, as an independent contractor, Robert has developed software and consulted for several hedge funds, hedge fund administrators and accounting firms including The Bank of New York and Ernst & Young LLP. Robert started his career in the hedge fund industry in 1995 at Coopers & Lybrand LLP (now Price Water House Coopers) as a Senior Developer responsible for maintaining and enhancing their proprietary partnership tax allocation software. In 1996, he joined Ernst & Young LLP, where he spent the next 10 years contributing to the development & support of several firm wide partnership tax accounting products. Robert's combined knowledge of hedge fund administration, partnership accounting, and software development helps lead the success of each Fund of Hedge Funds InsightT implementation. Robert holds a B.S. in Computer Science from California State University, Northridge.
