John Peterson brings 15 years of experience to growing multi-manager fund solutions provider 

San Francisco & New York—February 9, 2011

Cogency Software, Inc., a provider of integrated portfolio management and accounting solutions for multi-manager funds, announced today the appointment of  John Peterson as the Managing Director of Business Development and a member of the firm’s Advisory Board.

In this role, Mr. Peterson will primarily be responsible for business development initiatives, including increasing market share and awareness amongst the firm’s clients and target audience – fund of hedge funds, family offices, endowments, and fund of private equity funds in need of Cogency's integrated software solutions. In addition, he will contribute his 15 years of experience and expertise to all operational and strategic development initiatives.

Mr. Peterson held various leadership roles within several global hedge fund administration firms. Before joining Cogency, Mr. Peterson was Managing Director and Business Development Executive at Butterfield Fulcrum, an independent hedge fund administrator. Before that, he was Head of Sales at Caledonian Fund Services. He is actively serving on the national board of directors of the Hedge Fund Association (HFA).  Having founded the Midwest Chapter he is currently serving as the Northeast Chapter Director for the HFA. A graduate of Albion College, Mr. Peterson holds a B.A. in Psychology and General Science.
